I speak Arabic and travel to Saudi Arabia regularly. That means I can read Arabic-language sources directly, follow what's being reported locally, and stay current with details that change often — opening hours, prices, transport, and the way things work on the ground. I also have contacts in Madinah who help confirm details that are difficult to verify from a distance.
How this site works. Some content comes from my own travels. Some is compiled from Arabic-language sources, official publications, and vendor listings. I try to be clear about which is which. Where I haven't personally inspected something, I say so. Where prices are indicative, I say so. Where sources are non-official, I say so.
Travel writing is full of confident claims that don't hold up. I'd rather tell you what I don't know than pad a page with things I can't stand behind.
